Pap smear screening Test at Kathmandu Cancer Center (KCC)

Pap smear screening Test at Kathmandu Cancer Center (KCC)
4th February 2026
Location- Kathmandu Cancer Hospital, cervical screening

This screening initiative was conducted on the occasion of World Cancer Day, 4th February 2026, aligning with the global theme of raising awareness, improving early detection, and promoting equitable access to cancer prevention services. Observing World Cancer Day through community-based action reinforces the message that early detection saves lives and that cancer care should reach every woman, even at the grassroots level.

Kathmandu Cancer Center (KCC) is a specialized oncology institution committed to cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and community outreach in Nepal. In collaboration with Maya Outreach, KCC carried out a community-based screening program focusing on breast and cervical cancer among women of Ward No. 6, Changunarayan Nagarpalika.

Early detection through organized screening is one of the most effective strategies to reduce cancer-related mortality. This initiation aims to bring evidence-based screening services directly to the community, especially targeting women with limited access to hospital-based screening.
